T O P I C R E V I E WTanaeHey to All,Just wanted to know if any of you have sometimes felt cursed by Astrology??? By that I mean, do you ever find yourself mentally "charting" people that you meet based upon their looks, demeanor, and so on? OR, once you know their birth information, are you quick to compose a chart to see how they may or may not fit with you?And if so, has it ever come back to bite you, because instead of letting nature take its course, your knowledge of Astrology and their birth chart possibly influenced and/or alterered the outcome?Just wondering, ------------------Tanae'Asc: LibraSun: VirgoMoon:Capricornlioneye68I think it's a great tool to have, honestly. But, you still need to allow them to be who they are and accept it. Astrology actually helps me in that respect. Why bash your head against a wall if you don't "get" someone? Astrology helps us understand each other better and be more tolerant of each other.Of course, and a-hole is an a-hole, no matter what their sign. scorpioprideI find myself looking at astrology as a way to understand and have more patience with people. This really helped me in my last job. I was able to get along with more people because I could understand why they were more prone to do certain things.I ususally ask people their b-days when I meet them. (after I feel them out a bit. I have gotten a few bad reactions from people. The closeminded, such a waste at times huh?) If i get to know someone alot better I may push for the rest of their birth info. I find it's a good way of dealing with people and learning more about astrology at the same time. (you mean there's more to astrology then signs and planets? lol) I can't say it has bitten me in the butt yet but like i said I only look at basics until i get to know them alot better.mysticaldreamThe only time I feel cursed by astrology is when I look at my own chart! (just kidding.....sort of )AcousticGodTanae,Can I ask you the degrees of your Sun and Moon?AGAsc: GeminiSun: Capricorn (5th degree)Moon: Virgo (29th degree)GooberzlostlovefoundTanae~ Hey you Welcome to Linda-Land!Yes, I know exactly what you mean!! There's always the risk of becoming an "astrological bigot" if you're not careful, lol.Btw, just noticed that you, AcousticGod, & I all seem to have some pretty similar astrological placements. We all have Virgo/Cap suns, Virgo/Cap moons, and Air risings. GLLFAsc: AquariusSun: CapricornMoon: VirgowilsontcTanae,I think this is a danger if you believe that astrology is about a "fated" answer and, if you understand astrology you will understand what will happen in your own and everybody else's life. But if you are open to astrology as a description of energies we have and how those energies interact with others, with each of us deciding how to use our own energies best for ourselves, then astrology can be very empowering for us and we can help those around us develop their power through our astrological knowledge.Long-windedly,Tim------------------For information on basic astrological chart interpretation see: http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctcKamillaI think one of the pitfalls might be some of those positive energies never materialising. Let's say you have met someone, got a little bit excited... Would you feel any different if your synastry (and/or composite)with this person whom you don't really know is great or discordant?TanaeI'm pretty new to Astrology, and I am definitely learning as I go, so much thanks to all of you for the replies!!! Acoustiic God, from the chart I constructed my degrees are:Asc: 17 degrees LibraSun: 22 degrees VirgoMoon: 27 degrees CapricornWilsontc, the link you gave is GREAT!!! I've been reading Joanna Woolfolks "The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need" and its been helpful to me in interpreting my chart. Most appreciative,Tanae'spideryooooo,.,.im new here i have a similar thing going on with AcOuStIc God and with u, TaNaEMy sunZ CaPRIc0rn 18'Mo0n in CaPRicorn 5'Asc/Libra 1'so maybe asc is virgo. i think its the actual change between virgo and libra personally. i feel 'cursed' by astrology too.. theres certian signs/ aspects i have had bad experiences with that i am reluctant to get involved with now.. i have issues dealing with Taureans, Leos, Aries especially but have had friendships with these signs in the past before i knew anything about astrology. I feel like i judge people more now and can ususally guess what sun sign someone is before i am told. so it is a tool, like that. Maybe aries, taurus and leo could just natually grate a capricorn. pidauaI wouldn't call it a curse unless someone becomes so fanatical with Astrology that they begin to base their life on astro transits and people's sun signs. My good friend, a Capricorn / Leo rising asked if I felt there were environmental aspects that could influence and person's traits. I said "ABSOLUTELY"!! It depends on where the person was born, their family influence and their social mores.I likened an astro chart to the blue-print of a house. A person knows where the pipes, walls, appliances will go - they may even know the entire layout of the house BUT... what is not known is how that person will decorate the inside, what kind of colors will be used on the walls, what about the landscaping or the painting on the exterior walls. Free will... it can change everything CancerianMoon**I likened an astro chart to the blue-print of a house.
